Job SummaryThis position will be responsible for creating and maintaining software applications at the Arizona Department of State. It will handle day‑to‑day upkeep of multiple applications, including issue resolution and defect management. The role includes analyzing, debugging, and resolving defects in applications, supporting production systems and resolving production issues promptly, and engaging with business users and stakeholders to understand business requirements and documenting technical specifications.
It will also support new development to meet functional and technical design following SDLC best practices and contribute to architectural design discussions.
Employees can participate in the State’s Remote Work Program and may work remotely from homes, offices, or hoteling spaces in Arizona unless an exception is authorized.
Job Duties- Develop new applications to meet functional and technical designs.
- Analyze, debug, and resolve defects in applications.
- Support production systems; analyze and resolve production problems in a timely manner.
- Engage with business analysts and stakeholders to understand functional requirements and contribute to functional specifications.
- Prepare technical documentation on application specifications, tune performance, review and recommend improvements to existing code and architectures.
- Other duties as assigned (typically 5%‑10%).
Knowledge: Considerable working knowledge of multiple programming languages including .NET, multiple database management systems, and multiple development platforms.

- State driver’s license credential/vehicle insurance.
- Bachelor’s degree plus five or more years of programming and analysis experience (or equivalent experience).
