Python Developer; SAS - REMOTE

• Develop and document the transition of the Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP) processing system into a Python codebase
• Analyze existing SAS-based systems to define functional requirements for optimized Python-based solutions
• Write high-quality, well-documented Python code for large datasets and improve code performance
• Conduct meetings with customers and subject matter experts to capture business needs and processes
• Provide thorough documentation and participate in code reviews and formal presentations

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is preferred
• Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in backend and front-end development, relational databases, and application development
• Proficient in using Git Lab or Git Hub for CI/CD pipeline configuration
• Experience with Python for reading and reformatting large data files
• Familiarity with SAS code and experience with data validation in a statistical processing environment

• Experience with cloud computing, preferably with Amazon Web Services
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of database designs that balance usability with functionality
