In this role you will participate in highly complex projects and solve technical problems while working in an agile environment that has the creative energy of a start‑up and the full backing of a Fortune 100 company. You will work collaboratively on a geographically diverse agile team to develop and enhance complex systems and/or software from user stories and technical / architectural specifications.

Hybrid – 2 days per week in any of these offices:
Portsmouth, NH;
Boston, MA;
Indianapolis, IN;
Plano, TX;
Columbus, OH.

Desired Skills & Traits
  • Technical problem solver:
    Going beyond code to document and build deployment guides aimed at maintaining robust, relevant software.
  • Customer‑centric engineer:
    Translating customer requirements into technical applications and supporting implementation of new software.
  • Collaborative partner:
    Working with USRM team of scrum masters, product owners and fellow engineers to tackle technical challenges and ensure quality as we move from legacy technologies to next‑generation applications.
  • Forward thinker:
    Identifying opportunities to enhance performance, quality and efficiency beyond simply fixing problems.
Qualifications
  • Minimum eight years of software engineering experience.
  • History of translating business requirements into technical designs.
  • Agile engineering capabilities and a design‑thinking mindset.
  • Collaboration, adaptability, flexibility and ability to manage time and prioritize work with a globally distributed development team.
  • Well‑developed oral and written communication skills for explaining decision‑making to non‑engineers.
  • Experience leveraging AI/ML tools in software development, including integration, monitoring, and optimization.
  • Proficiency in software engineering languages and tools, including Java, Spring Boot, AWS and RESTful services, spanning horizontal and vertical packages.
  • Understanding of how modifications affect different parts of a system and ability to explain your decision‑making to non‑engineers.
  • Experience working with Guidewire Claim Center a plus.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience.
