Staff Engineer, Software Engineer

Sage Recruiting is looking for a Staff Engineer to join a fast-growing SaaS company in Vancouver (or Remote!). The product redefines email communication and transaction by developing an online collaboration tool which optimizes their customers' workflow.

As a Staff Engineer, you will spend most of your time on feature development and the rest on technical leadership. You will also create sustainable, high-performance, and scalable solutions and provide solutions to challenging problems. You will collaborate with the global team with the goal to reinvent the way people communicate in enterprises. What we are looking for

8+ years’ experience building and implementing complex, multi-tier distributed software applications

5+ years’ backend development experience building and running applications using Java/Kotlin/Typescript/Node.js

Adept in working in product-first companies and experience in developing SaaS platforms creating new ideas from initial design to product release

Competent in designing and developing solutions to complex problems with significant impact

Experience in conducting feasibility studies

Experience in modern technology research and assessment and making the optimal architectural decisions for complex business problems

Passionate team players who can provide leadership and can push the norms

Strong oral and written communication skills

Nice to have

2+ years’ frontend development experience using TypeScript, React

Experience in setting technical direction and leading project teams as a hands-on technical lead

Experience with scaling distributed systems

Knowledge of functional programming
