We are looking for a Creative Technical Designer to shape the next generation of live esports engagement at Zenos.
You will be the visionary responsible for designing the Player experience - creating bite‑size, short‑form games and interactive features that run in parallel with major esports content like Counter‑Strike and Rocket League.
Your primary task will be rapid iterative prototyping. We want to play your concepts, not just read them, with the expectation of trying out new features weekly.
If you thrive on taking creative concepts from initial sketch to a polished, playable vertical slice, we want you on our team.
- Design, implement, and rapidly prototype highly interactive, retentive gameplay loops and core platform systems leveraging live esports IPs and events.
- Own the core focus of the Player experience, ensuring it is fun, immersive, and engaging for the audience with a smooth UX/minimum barrier to entry.
- Work in a tight, iterative loop, delivering new playable prototypes (primarily in Unreal Engine) weekly for review and feedback.
- Collaborate closely with technical art and product teams to ensure creative prototypes are technically viable, meet business needs, and move toward full implementation.
- Create clear design and technical documentation that articulates trade‑offs, risks, and proposed solutions for complex mechanics and systems.
- Justify and implement creative ideas effectively, demonstrating the professional skill set required to bring concepts from initial sketch to polished, production‑ready vertical slices.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in professional Game/Technical Design with a proven track record of shipping at least one successful product.
- Proficiency in creating and implementing gameplay prototypes, including scripting in Blueprints with a basic understanding of C++.
- Expertise in development tools like Unreal Engine for rapid prototyping and later polishing into production‑ready solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to create short‑form, sticky, and highly enjoyable gaming experiences with attention to user impacts.
- Experience designing games/features that engage with an external, live‑streaming content source or IP (e.g., esports events).
- Experience analysing user behaviour (retention, engagement) to inform design decisions.
- Experienced working with animation blueprints, rigging, control rigs, and animation retargeting.
- Experience creating a range of complex custom shaders using Unreal Material Editor.
- Passion for Esports or live events, and experience working with UMG or comparable game‑oriented UI systems.
Please note:
This role is integral to our strategic plans for 2026. While we are gathering interest now and scheduling initial exploratory calls, we plan to launch the hiring process and begin formally interviewing suitable candidates in early Q1 2026. We look forward to connecting with potential candidates early in the new year.
Kindly fill out the job application form and submit your resume or CV, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can!
