• Collaborate with designers and partners to prototype, implement, and maintain dynamic interactive tools and experiences.
• Work closely with other design engineers, pairing and mentoring, building a culture of excellence.
• Maintain and extend the design system.
• Build high‑polish web pages that meet high standards for SEO, accessibility, performance.

• 5+ years of relevant web front‑end development or creative technology experience at a product‑driven company.
• Advanced knowledge of modern HTML and CSS.
• Experience writing clear, elegant code in a team environment.
• Zeal for the web as a storytelling medium, with a portfolio of design work and frontend code.
• Experience designing and building public‑facing websites that work across browsers and devices.

• Good understanding of formal design elements, including typography, layout, balance, and proportion.
• Experience building highly complex interactive tools with state management and data fetching.
• Proficiency with React focusing on interactions, animation, performance, and polish.
• Experience with A/B testing, synthetic monitoring, or accessibility testing.

This role is available either in an office or as a remote position (35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office). Remote employees are expected to work home‑based continuously; office‑assigned staff should spend at least 50% of each month in their local office.

The annual U.S. base salary range is $146,400 – $219,600. Benefits include equity, bonus, 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, wellness stipends, and more. Employees outside the U.S. can request a local salary range during the interview process.
