Join the Cloud Services team as a Sr. Software Engineer and help us build a fault‑resilient, highly available, and customer‑centric platform. In this role you will work with the team to build a scalable and secure platform and build customer‑facing features that enable security and engineering teams to stop threats in their place! This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is obsessed with customer success, passionate about simplification, and eager to dive deep into technology best practices.

Our services and features are written primarily in Python, Golang, Type Script and React with a focus on security, scalability, stability and type‑first design. Our team develops public REST APIs, solves database scalability challenges, implements data migrations, and enables configuration management across our fleet of services.

The R(x) 360 Platform is built on AWS and GCP. It utilizes Terraform to define Infrastructure‑as‑Code and our services. This platform allows us to build native product and service integrations, first‑class customer‑facing workflows, and high throughput data pipelines. Our goal is to build a reliable platform for customer‑facing services while encouraging healthy work‑life balance via automated remediation and fault‑tolerant designs.

• Design, develop and maintain services written in Go and Python powering Extra Hop's products.
• Lead and participate actively in agile development processes, code reviews, and technical strategy discussions.
• Provide technical leadership to junior team members and leverage design and mentorship experience to help enable the team
• Act as a technical expert, fostering a culture of excellence, curiosity and collaborative problem solving.
• Address technical debt proactively, continually improving our codebase and technical stack

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• 7+ years of professional backend development experience
• Solid knowledge of Go, Python, or an equivalent programming language
• Experience in API development, Postgres
  
  QL database design or SQL query performance optimization
• Experience building and scaling distributed, highly available systems
• Strong problem‑solving skills, a self‑starter mentality, and a track record of technical ownership.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in fast‑paced, agile environments.

• Experience with Django, FastAPI or another Python web framework
• Experience with cloud services on AWS or Azure (EKS / RDS / S3 / SQS / EC2 / IAM)
• Experience around containers and related technologies (Kubernetes / Docker / Hashi Corp - Packer, Vault, and Terraform).

The salary for this role is 150, + bonus + benefits
