In this role, you’ll participate in highly complex projects and solve technical problems while working in an agile environment that has the creative energy of a start‑up and the full backing and comprehensive benefits of a Fortune 100 company. You will work collaboratively on a geographically diverse agile team to develop and enhance complex systems and/or software from user stories and technical/architectural specifications.
You will help solve business problems and drive direct outcomes through innovative solutions that exceed customer expectations, driving best‑in‑class claims experiences.

What we expect from you
- Technical problem solver:
Go beyond writing error‑free code, testing, components, and system architectures; document and build deployment guides for maintaining robust, relevant software. - Customer‑centric engineer:
Translate customer requirements into technical applications and support the implementation of new software. - Collaborative partner:
Work with USRM team of scrum masters, product owners and fellow engineers to tackle technical challenges and ensure quality as we transition from legacy technologies to next‑generation applications. - Forward thinker:
Using a proactive mindset and initiative, identify opportunities to enhance performance, quality and efficiency.
This is a fast‑paced environment providing rapid delivery for our business partners in delivering best‑in‑class claims solutions. You will have the opportunity to help lead this change as we grow this culture, mindset and capability.
Qualifications
- Minimum eight years of software engineering experience.
- History of translating business requirements into technical designs.
- Agile engineering capabilities and a design‑thinking mindset.
- Collaboration, adaptability, flexibility and the ability to manage time and prioritize work with a globally distributed development team.
- Well‑developed oral and written communication skills for explaining your decision‑making process to non‑engineers.
- Experience leveraging AI/ML tools in software development, including integration, monitoring, and optimization.
- Proficiency in software engineering languages and tools, including Java, Spring Boot, AWS and RESTful services.
- Understanding of how modifications affect different parts of a system and the ability to explain your decision‑making process to non‑engineers.
- Experience working with Guidewire Claim Center is a plus.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience.
