Role Overview: As the Technical Lead for Data Pipeline Features within our Model Development Platform, you will design, build, and maintain pipelines that process multiple petabytes of data from autonomous vehicle fleets and partner integrations, directly impacting our machine‑learning models and research.

  Define and execute a strategic technical roadmap for enhancing and scaling data‑pipeline capabilities; drive innovation in pipeline architecture to support dynamic use‑cases.
• Pipeline Development & Innovation: Lead the design and implementation of advanced data‑pipeline features for efficient ingestion, transformation, and distribution; normalize and unify multiple disparate data sources into a consistent format tailored for AI training and research.
• Operational Efficiency & Excellence: Establish and maintain best practices for reliability, observability, alerting, and monitoring; manage initiatives to minimize latency and failure recovery while ensuring compliance with SLAs.
• Collaboration & Integration: Engage with robotics, ML, data governance teams to align technical efforts with business goals; foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and shared ownership.
• Team Development: Mentor and develop engineering talent, promote technical excellence; contribute to hiring and onboarding to expand the data‑pipeline team.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience focused on scalable, complex data pipelines.
• Proven technical leadership in pipeline engineering or a related domain.
• Expertise in modern data‑pipeline architectures, including DAG‑based orchestration (e.g., Airflow, Flyte).
• Strong knowledge of distributed processing frameworks and pipeline optimization techniques.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
• Track record of mentorship and talent development.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Desirable:

• Experience with robotics or autonomous vehicle sensor data processing pipelines.
• Familiarity with third‑party dataset ingestion and transformation.
• Understanding of compliance and data governance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, TSAX).
• Hands‑on experience integrating observability and monitoring solutions.
