Project Goal: Migrate the SCIP website from Wix to a modern, code‑based platform to optimize it for our global audience (students, donors, and partners).

Commitment Overview: This 3‑5 month project is ideal for high‑achieving undergraduates, post‑graduates, Alumni, and experienced learners worldwide seeking portfolio‑worthy experience.

The initial phase of this project is a commitment of about 3 months
. We understand our team members are global and may be attending classes, so the majority of this work is remote, asynchronous, flexible, and unpaid
.

• Workload: Approximately 15 hours per week
  , self‑scheduled.
• Structure: Remote, asynchronous, and flexible. We understand our team members are global and may be attending classes.
• Meetings: Required team meetings will accommodate global time zones; all mandatory sessions are recorded and shared.

Top performers in this role will be considered for immediate placement into the
SCIP B2B Apprenticeship program after project completion. This highly sought‑after program provides an opportunity to gain further experience working directly with startups as apprentices, actively develop advanced professional skills, and offers the potential for participants to be hired by the partner startup and beyond.

This is a fantastic unpaid opportunity to gain invaluable practical experience and build a strong portfolio, with the added benefit of earning
academic credit and community or volunteer hours for your contributions.

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance, cross‑platform mobile applications using React Native, Swift, and Kotlin.
• Lead the end‑to‑end mobile development lifecycle, from architecture and implementation to deployment on the App Store and Play Store.

Experience: 1+ years in Mobile Development through degree programs, bootcamps, projects, or related experience.

Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience with a strong focus on Mobile Development.

Technical

Skills:

• Native iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin/Java)
• App Store and Play Store deployment processes
• Push notifications and background processing

User

Experience:

Understanding of mobile UX patterns and guidelines

Portfolio: Required. Git Hub repository or project documentation demonstrating a minimum of 2 apps successfully deployed to app stores
