Your RoleWe’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer with a passion for cloud technology and building highly scalable software solutions. This role is pivotal in driving Hudl’s mission forward, offering ample opportunities to learn and make a significant impact on our loyal and vocal customer base.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll:
- Developing key features and capabilities
. You’ll help us bring new levels of insight to coaches, athletic directors, and parents by working on groundbreaking projects. - Be at the forefront
. By shaping how wearable data is surfaced and used across Hudl, you’ll make a real impact on sports teams. - Work closely with a cross-functional team
. You’ll collaborate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Product Management, Design and Scrum to deliver full-stack product features that drive real impact for coaches. - Be a key technical leader
. At Hudl, we iterate rapidly and deploy changes to our products hundreds of times a day. In addition to building and shipping features, you’ll help break down complex problems, guide architectural decisions, champion engineering best practices, and mentor others on the team.
For this role, we're currently prioritizing applicants who live within commuting distance of our offices in Lincoln or Omaha, Nebraska, but we’re open to remote applicants who live in the following states: AL, AZ, FL, GA, , IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MA, MI, MN, MO, NE, NH, NC, NV, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WI, WY.
Must-Haves- Full-stack web development experience with cloud infrastructure exposure. You have 5+ years of experience building and operating mature web applications end-to-end—from crafting intuitive client-side interfaces, to designing resilient backend services, to managing data persistence layers. You're also comfortable navigating cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment practices.
- Adaptability and ownership. You can quickly get up to speed on new technologies, systems and business contexts. We value engineers who can operate autonomously with outcome‑oriented goals, people who can make smart tradeoffs, refactor code when needed and adapt solutions as scope evolves.
- Technical coaching experience. You’ve supported other engineers through substantial product investments. You’re comfortable translating requirements, creating architectural proposals, breaking down work into digestible increments, and guiding other engineers through implementation.
- A collaborative, team‑first mindset. You know building excellent software is a team effort and you’re willing to collaborate with others to get to the best outcome—whether that means providing input in technical discussions, pitching in when a teammate needs a hand, or providing quality feedback in code review.
- Professional background. Previous roles using Python, React, Graph
QL, C#, React, Mongo
DB and/or AWS would be a plus. Adjacent languages, frameworks and services used at scale are also relevant experiences. - Knowledge of cloud‑native technologies and patterns. Experience with Azure would be a bonus for this role.
