About The Role

We seek a dynamic and experienced Staff Software Engineer to lead our Outbound Engineering team, driving the design, development, and implementation of software solutions for complex integrations with robotics and machinery. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a hands‑on, collaborative environment and is passionate about creating scalable, high‑performance systems that bridge the gap between software and hardware.

• Design and Develop: Lead the architecture and development of software solutions, making strategic decisions that influence our technical direction.
• Collaborate and Communicate: Work closely with cross‑functional teams to align technology development with business objectives, effectively communicating technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Code Review and Quality Assurance: Perform rigorous code reviews and advocate for best coding practices to ensure our products are efficient and maintainable.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and contributing to a culture of excellence.
• Stay Ahead of the Curve: Research emerging technologies and trends in software engineering, identifying opportunities to enhance our projects and processes.
• Problem‑Solving: Address complex technical challenges with innovative solutions, anticipating potential issues to ensure smooth project execution.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 8 years of software development experience.
• Proven experience with the development, scaling, and maintenance of distributed systems.
• Proven experience with warehouse automation or fulfillment operations machinery integration.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, architectural design, and agile development methodologies.
• Practical communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas clearly and concisely.

Preferred Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in Ruby or Elixir.
• Excellent analytical abilities and problem‑solving skills, with the capacity to work independently on complex issues.
• Experience leading projects and mentoring junior engineers.
• Familiarity with AWS.
• Contributions to open‑source projects or a strong Git Hub portfolio.

The expected salary range for this role is $-. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity.
