Join us as a Senior Software Engineer on our highly skilled Security team at Akamai Technologies. You will help build and scale our Bot Manager product, protecting leading brands from data theft and account takeover while handling petabytes of data and billions of secure transactions daily. This role focuses on full‑stack development for bot threat detection, protection, and control features, enabling our customers to better manage bot traffic and improve the internet for millions of people.

• Work on projects that improve our bot detection products, keeping Akamai a leader in bot detection.
• Implement new features and enhance existing ones, optimizing functionality from conception through testing and deployment.
• Troubleshoot complex customer issues in collaboration with level‑3 support.
• Conduct data analysis for web and mobile platforms.
• Improve client‑side components such as JavaScript as needed.

• At least 5 years of overall software development experience with a relevant degree in Computer Science.
• Proficiency in Java for web and web‑API development.
• Strong understanding of data formats such as JSON and XML.
• Experience or knowledge in machine learning or data science is an asset.
• Ability to design clean, well‑structured code using sound architecture.
• Excellent workload prioritization and self‑management skills.

For U.S. candidates, the base salary ranges from $106,600 to $221,400 per year, with additional incentives, equity, and an employee stock purchase plan.
