It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work remotely 100% of the time and will share a hoteling workspace if/when working onsite, as determined by business needs. The incumbent can work remotely from anywhere in FNBO’s 8 state footprint.

Summary of the Job

The Sr. BASE
24 Developer is responsible for collaborating with the delivery team to ensure the solutions developed will deliver value and improve the quality of the software. This includes partnering with the product owner, peers, systems analysts and testers on the Delivery team to define requirements, tasks and provide final estimates for User Stories. The Developers are responsible for attending and participating in all Scrum ceremonies.

The ideal candidate will enjoy the challenge of a customized software environment and welcome learning the complex systems.

About This Role

The Sr. BASE
24 Developer is responsible for collaborating with the delivery team to ensure the solutions developed will deliver value and improve the quality of the software. This includes partnering with product owner, peers, systems analysts and testers on the Delivery team to define requirements, tasks and provide final estimates for User Stories. The Developers are responsible for attending and participating in all Scrum ceremonies.

The ideal candidate will enjoy the challenge of a customized software environment and welcome learning the complex systems.

Duties include:

  • Ability to assist with development and support of BASE
    24 application including applying regulation mandates, modifications to customizations within BASE
    24, new application development and system maintenance.
  • Reviewing card brand mandates and interpret how they need to be implemented into the code
  • Take high level requirements through detailed specifications, prototype, software deployment, test and administration of mainframe applications.
  • Ensure software development follows best practices including secure coding, participation in code reviews and developing unit tests.
  • May also participate in upgrading or enhancing existing applications.
  • Must have a solid history of application development, support, modifications, enhancements and troubleshooting.
The Ideal Candidate for This Role

Experience and Attributes

  • Mandatory minimum 5 years of experience supporting BASE
    24 on HP Non-Stop platform
  • 5 years hands on experience with software languages including but not limited to TAL, COBOL, and C++
  • ATM and POS authorization processes, switch (VISA, Mastercard, and Visa DPS) interfaces and TSS experience
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Keen attention to detail with focus on quality
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Collaborate with the Solutions Architect to update technical designs
  • Ensure the correct technical tools are used effectively
  • Partner closely with Testers and Delivery Managers to ensure User Stories are refined and in a ready state for Sprint Planning
  • Work with Testers to resolve defects in a timely manner
