Engineering Manager – App Stores

Location: Remote, with time zones across the Americas, Europe, Middle East or Africa.
What your day will look like- Lead a remote team of engineers operating in your time zone, driving delivery of clean, scalable SaaS products.
- Develop talent through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and career development.
- Set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, leadership, and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other Engineering Managers to build an ambitious engineering roadmap.
- Design clean web‑service APIs that support CLI and web front‑end clients in Python (and optionally Go).
- Engage with internal Canonical teams, the open‑source community, and commercial partners.
- Proven experience leading modern, agile software development teams.
- Strong track record creating a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with company values.
- Expertise in sound engineering principles and ability to influence the team’s technical direction.
- Passion for coaching and growing people with tangible results.
- Deep knowledge of software development, with a focus on Python (Golang a plus).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Linux system administration.
- Willingness to travel up to four times a year for internal events.
- Commitment to agile methodologies and engineering best practices.
Your base pay will depend on factors such as location, level of experience, and skill set. Eligible roles may also receive annual bonuses and sales incentives. Compensation philosophy ensures equity across our global workforce.
