Software Engineer, Cloud Engineer - Software, Full Stack Developer
What You'll Do
As a Software Engineer working in Customer Experience technology, you'll enable Principal to effectively reach out and connect with current Employer customers. Our mission is to provide an easy and enjoyable experience for our customers! We do this by teaming up with designers, CX, product, and engineers to enable and build simple, intuitive experiences. You’ll have the opportunity to join the team during a time of “web reimagination” for our Employer customers.
You’ll have the opportunity to:

- Enable new capabilities for our Employer customer base that make managing their plan simple and intuitive.
- Some on call required.
We are looking for someone with:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree (preference in a computer science, technology, engineering or math-related field or equivalent experience) and 3+ years work experience or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience building event driven architectures in the cloud is required (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- 3+ years of experience working with React or Next.js is required.
- Informal leadership/mentorship preferred.
- Experience working within an Agile team preferred.
Here are a few more technologies you'll use in this role:
- Typescript
- CI/CD tooling, examples include Circle
CI and Git Hub Actions - Java, for some of the legacy application support
- Using AI coding assistants, examples include Github copilot and Kiro.
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)$94000 - $156000 / year
Time Off ProgramFlexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Work EnvironmentsThis role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, Raleigh NC, Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
