Full-Stack Engineer | VC-backed AI startup | Remote (South Africa)

Here at Venchr we’re working with a fast‑growing VC-backed AI startup based in London that’s on a mission to make complex data systems simple, transparent, and intelligent. Their platform combines LLMs, machine learning and cloud‑native architecture to help organisations truly understand and manage their data ecosystems.

They’re looking for one of their first engineering hires—someone who wants to help shape the product from the ground up and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves.

In this role, you’ll be building APIs and backend services with C# and .NET 8+, while also crafting front‑end experiences using Next.js and Type Script. You’ll work in a modern Azure environment with tools like Functions, Container Apps, Event Grid, and Service Bus. You’ll have a real voice in decisions around architecture, performance and developer experience, and you’ll collaborate in a Dev Ops‑driven culture where shipping fast and iterating is the norm.

You’ll also get the chance to experiment with AI and find creative ways to solve problems.

We’re looking for someone with at least three years of experience as a full‑stack or backend engineer. You should be strong in C#/.NET and Next.js/Type Script, and ideally have experience with serverless or containerised applications. Azure experience is a bonus. You’ll thrive here if you’re comfortable working with autonomy, taking ownership and moving quickly.

Communication and collaboration matter, and we want someone who’s confident sharing ideas and work. Most importantly, you take a pragmatic approach to AI—you know when it’s the right tool and when it’s better to trust your own judgement.
