Join Expana, a leading independent provider of global commodity price data and market intelligence to the food, consumer packaged goods (CPG), and capital goods industries. We deliver our insights through cloud‑based SaaS products, APIs, and data feeds.
We are seeking an experienced engineer (7+ years) who excels at architecture, innovation, and technical leadership. This role will shape the future of our B2B SaaS platform and drive meaningful impact across teams.
Responsibilities- Technical Leadership & Architecture (50%):
Design scalable, secure, maintainable solutions; lead cross‑functional initiatives; make long‑term architectural decisions; evaluate and introduce new technologies. - System Excellence & Innovation (30%):
Identify and solve broad architectural challenges; modernise legacy systems; champion observability and reliability; expand CI/CD pipelines and automated testing. - Leadership & Collaboration (20%):
Partner with engineering leadership, product, and executive teams; provide technical insights during planning; mentor engineers; advocate best practices and continuous improvement.
- Strong proficiency in Type Script, JavaScript, and SQL.
- Full‑stack experience in modern SaaS environments.
- Deep knowledge of system design, distributed systems, and scalable architecture.
- Experience with observability tools (Data Dog, App Insights, Prometheus).
- Solid understanding of cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- 7+ years of software engineering with a track record of high‑impact work.
- Ability to influence technical decisions across teams.
- Excellent communication skills; can simplify complex concepts.
- Strategic problem‑solver focused on long‑term technical health.
- Strong mentoring and coaching capabilities.
- Ownership mindset from design through long‑term maintenance.
- Experience driving technical improvements that deliver measurable value.
- Ability to lead technical communities and foster a culture of learning.

- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
