The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grummans Mission Connectivity team with the goal of creating the factory of the future by implementing an Industrial Internet Of Things to enable connectivity, analytics, and intelligence required for our cutting edge manufacturing processes. This position can be performed as a full time virtual telecommuter. We are looking at hiring at a Level 2 or Level 3, depending upon the candidates education and years of experience.

• Work with subject matter experts to analyze IT systems.
• Interface with process engineers to determine key data to collect.
• Evaluate available interface of connecting equipment.
• Design and develop software (primarily Java and Groovy) to retrieve and process data streaming from the factory floor and interface with other pillar systems in the factory.
• Work within an agile team, communicating, designing, documenting, and reviewing with other developers, architects, and business representatives.
• Bring issues to closure independently, demonstrating ownership and problem‑solving skills.
• Participate in a rapidly growing team and pursue growth opportunities.

• Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:
  
  • Bachelors of Science in Computer Science or similar discipline
  
  • Minimum of 2 years of software development experience
• Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:
  
  • Bachelors of Science in Computer Science or similar discipline
  
  • Minimum of 5 years of software development experience
• Remaining Qualifications for Both Levels:
  
  • Experience in working with remote team members
  
  • Experience applying engineering techniques and analytical methods to make recommendations for improvements and provide information and assistance to interfacing teams
• Preferred Qualifications:
  
  • Experience in Java, C or other OOP language
  
  • Experience connecting IOT devices
  
  • Experience in manufacturing
  
  • Experience writing and utilizing unit tests
  
  • Experience using and/or creating CI/CD pipelines such as with Jenkins
  
  • Experience working with or integrating to a Manufacturing Execution System
  
  • Experience with Agile practices and/or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  
  • Experience with Agile tools such as Jira or TFS/AZD

Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.

Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
