Founding Engineer

You will take ownership of the Subconscious platform. The platform you shape and build will allow us to share our core technology with developers and companies around the world. Just like ChatGPT unlocked OpenAI's models for the world, you will build the platform that allows people to experience and integrate our novel inference engine. This role is critical to shaping how developers interact with our infrastructure and how billions of agents come to life.

• Own the platform and developer-facing APIs.
• Build intuitive, reliable interfaces that showcase the power of our core systems.
• Translate complex runtime and model capabilities into simple, usable products.
• Ensure the platform is stable, scalable, and loved by developers.

• Are excited to shape a company at the frontier of AI.
• Enjoy building fast and pushing to prod daily.
• Have built developer platforms or APIs that others love to use.
• Have experience with modern web stacks (see stack below).
• Have worked across the stack, from product design to backend systems.
• Want to own a product that defines how the world experiences a new technology.

• Mostly Typescript full stack, with some Python
• Express & Fast API servers
• Various GPU hosting services (Modal, Lambda, Moonlite)
• SST managing our backend on AWS
• Next.js frontend hosted on Vercel
• Shadcn + Tailwind CSS for components

We are based in Boston, MA, and are in the office 5 days a week. For an exceptional candidate, we are willing to consider remote work.

We want you to be a co-creator of this platform. We can't build this company without you, and we want you to be a meaningful owner alongside us. So far, "Hongyin and Jack" built the company, but a few months after you join we will have built the company together. Your equity will reflect that.

Salary will be between $170k-$220k with significant equity ownership.
