The Engineering Manager - App Stores role at Canonical leads a remote team of engineers developing Python and Golang micro‑services that power the Snap Store and Charmhub.io marketplaces.

Location
:
Remote, Americas, Europe, Middle East or Africa time zones.
- Lead a remote team of engineers in your time zone.
- Develop talent through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands‑on career development.
- Set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, management, and external stakeholders.
- Act as an active part of the leadership team and collaborate with other leaders in the organisation.
- Build clean web‑service APIs to support both CLI and web front‑end clients, using Python (and optionally Golang).
- Engage with multiple teams at Canonical, the open‑source community and commercial partners.
- Experience leading modern, agile software development.
- Experience creating a healthy, collaborative engineering culture that aligns with company values.
- Demonstrable role model for sound engineering principles and direct contribution to team goals.
- Willingness to travel up to four times a year for internal events.
- Strong track record of mentoring, developing and growing people.
- Depth of knowledge and passion for software development.
- Focus on timely delivery of high‑quality software.

- Commitment to agile development methodologies.
- Experience in Python (experience in Golang is a plus).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Practical experience with Linux system administration.

Base pay will depend on geographical location, level of experience, knowledge and skills. Certain roles are also eligible for additional benefits and rewards including annual bonuses and sales incentives based on revenue or utilisation.
