This role will focus on restoring cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, and backend integrations while ensuring the system is secure, reliable, and fully documented for long‑term maintainability. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, highly technical, and comfortable stepping into partially configured environments to bring order and clarity.
This role is fully remote.
- Restore and validate backend CI/CD workflows by reconnecting the codebase to source control and deployment pipelines.
- Reconfigure cloud infrastructure within Google Cloud Platform, including serverless functions and hosting services.
- Establish and secure environment variables, service accounts, and authentication configurations across environments.
- Validate successful deployments and confirm backend endpoints and services are functioning as expected.
- Reconnect and secure integrations with a headless content management system to ensure correct data behavior.
- Support the migration of backend hosting and cloud resources into a newly structured cloud organization.
- Diagnose and resolve configuration, deployment, and environment‑related issues as they arise.
- Perform thorough end‑to‑end testing to confirm platform stability prior to handoff.
- Document configurations, decisions, and setup steps to support future maintenance and onboarding.
- Partner closely with frontend engineers to ensure APIs and hosting layers fully support the application.
- 3+ years of experience in backend engineering within cloud‑hosted environments.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Node.js and Type Script.
- Proven experience working with Google Cloud Platform, including serverless or managed services.
- Experience configuring and maintaining CI/CD workflows, ideally using Git Hub Actions.
- Solid understanding of secure credential management, environment configuration, and access controls.
- Experience integrating backend systems with headless CMS platforms.
- Ability to quickly understand an existing codebase and re‑establish critical infrastructure connections.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work effectively under tight timelines.
- Clear written communication skills, with an emphasis on technical documentation.
- Experience with transactional email services such as Send Grid or similar providers.
- Familiarity with managing multiple environments (development, staging, production).
- Understanding of frontend‑backend integration patterns to support API alignment.
