Join Room Price Genie  as a Senior Backend Engineer in our Customer Journey team. This fully remote role focuses on building and optimizing scalable system back‑ends that power user activation, engagement, and long‑term success.

Founded in 2017, Room Price Genie  helps hoteliers worldwide set optimal room pricing. Our AI‑powered platform analyzes hotel data and market trends to recommend pricing strategies that boost revenue and booking rates. We serve clients from the USA, Canada, Iceland, South Africa, China, Slovenia, Italy, the UK, and many more.

As a Senior Backend Engineer you’ll own features end‑to‑end, from design through deployment, and collaborate closely with Product, Data, Design, and Frontend teams. Occasionally you’ll also contribute to React front‑end work and data pipelines.

• Design, build and maintain robust backend services and APIs using Python/Django.
• Take end‑to‑end ownership of projects—from problem discovery to deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code, applying modern testing practices (unit, integration, functional).
• Collaborate across disciplines (Product, Data, Design, Frontend) to deliver measurable outcomes.
• Occasionally contribute to the React front‑end or data pipelines (Snowflake, Airflow, dbt) to unblock progress on critical projects or improve feedback loops.
• Ensure data quality, observability and performance in systems that feed our analytics and growth experiments.
• Participate in architecture reviews, technical discussions, and mentoring to elevate engineering standards.
• Drive continuous improvement in design, testing, deployment, and monitoring practices.

• Solid professional software engineering experience with deep backend expertise.
• Experience in a high‑growth or scaling company is a strong plus.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and Django.
• Strong grasp of software design principles, testing, and scalable architecture.
• Practical experience with CI/CD, AWS, and modern monitoring / observability tools.
• Familiarity with React and data workflows; comfortable extending frontend components and data pipelines when needed.
• A product‑minded engineer who understands trade‑offs, user needs, and impact‑driven development.
• High ownership mentality; see projects through from idea to measurable results.
• Excellent communication skills, fluency in English, and a collaborative mindset.
• Based in the European time zone (UTC+0 / UTC+2).

• Experience with Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, dragster, cube, or similar data tools.
• Experience with event‑driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, Celery).
