Base pay range$60,000.00/yr - $96,000.00/yr

What You’ll Do- Design, develop, and optimize business rules using the Drools Rule Engine, integrating these rules into Java/Spring Boot enterprise applications.
- Develop and implement Decision Model and Notation (DMN) models and complex event processing (CEP) features using Drools Fusion.
- Build and maintain microservice architectures, ensuring seamless integration of rule-based services.
- Containerize and deploy Drools applications using Docker and manage them in AWS cloud environments.
- Configure, tune, and maintain application servers such as Wild Fly (JBoss AS) and Tomcat.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Business Analysts and Product Managers, to translate complex business logic into executable rules.
- Implement and maintain automated test suites to validate rule execution and ensure system stability.
- Monitor, optimize, and continuously improve rule performance and scalability.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in Java development with a strong focus on the Drools Rule Engine.
- Hands-on experience with Drools Workbench, KIE Execution Server, and KIE APIs.
- Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
- Strong understanding of rule-based systems, decision tables, and rule optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and test automation frameworks (JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber).
- Experience with Red Hat Decision Manager (RHDM) or other enterprise BRMS tools.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git Hub Actions) and infrastructure as code.
- Exposure to performance tuning, rule versioning, and governance in production environments.
- Familiarity with API integration and REST-based decision services.
This position is open to candidates based in the United States only. Applicants must have current U.S. work authorization.
This is a fully remote position
; however, candidates must be based in regions that align with the Pacific, Central, or Eastern U.S. time zones to ensure effective collaboration with client and team schedules.
