* About the role:

** As a Senior Backend Engineer, you pair deep backend expertise with pragmatic ownership. You collaborate across product, frontend, mobile, and platform to ship reliable, scalable services, raise performance baselines, strengthen CI/CD, and simplify architecture, all with a strong security mindset.

** What you'll do:
*** Design, develop, and operate reliable, scalable APIs and services in Python with Django and Django REST Framework.
* Lead architectural changes that simplify the system: data modeling improvements, service boundaries, messaging patterns, and zero-downtime migrations.
* Collaborate with Dev Ops on pipelines and infrastructure using Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform, and promote trunk-based development and deployment safety.
* Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure high code quality and system reliability.
* Collaborate with Frontend, Mobile, UX, and Product to shape solutions and negotiate APIs that improve developer experience and user outcomes.
* Mentor engineers through structured feedback, pairing, and design reviews. Contribute to chapter knowledge sharing through talks and docs.

* What you bring:

*** Expert-level Python with Django and Django REST Framework. Strong understanding of RESTful API design and versioning.
* Strong SQL and Postgre

SQL expertise, including performance tuning, indexing, partitioning, and schema evolution
* Experience building resilient asynchronous systems using Celery and message brokers such as Rabbit

MQ.
* Practical caching strategies with Redis, including eviction policies and cache-aside patterns.
* Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Git Hub Actions for safe, fast delivery with canaries and feature flags.
* Product-focused observability with SLIs/SLOs, actionable alerts, and trace-to-log correlation.
* Fix and prevent: diagnose with profiling and tracing, then instrument, document, and test to avoid regressions.
* A data-driven mindset with a focus on problem-solving and decision-making.
* Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate challenges, suggest improvements, and take initiative in problem-solving.
