Overview
The post holder will support the qualified clinicians with specialist assessments and psychological interventions with children and young people with learning disabilities, and their families - with the work managed and supervised closely by a Clinical Psychologist. They will also contribute to service projects, audits and evaluations. N.D. CAMHS is a friendly and supportive service which consists of a number of professionals from a variety of backgrounds, all skilled in working with children and young people with mental health issues.
There are a number of different teams within the service that Core CAMHS works closely with. LD CAMHS is well established and you will work alongside other friendly, experienced professionals.
Whilst you care for our young people and families, in turn we recognise the importance of caring for you - clinical supervision, career, personal development and health and well-being support are all core to our service. The CAMHS service also has a range of internal CPD activities and we currently run a valued CPD skills group for Assistant Psychologists monthly.
To assist with the provision of psychological assessments, formulations and interventions for young people in CAMHS.
To contribute to relevant evaluation, audit and project work, including carrying out relevant literature reviews, preparing databases and writing reports.

- Role location and contract – This role is based within CAMHS at The Den, Chesterfield Royal Hospital (with possible work at other Core CAMHS Bases in Chesterfield town centre, Buxton and/or some remote-working). This is a 12 month temporary contract to cover a maternity post.
- Be a Psychology Graduate, 2:1 or above.
- Have at least 6 months direct experience working with people with learning disabilities.
- Have proven excellent communication skills and IT skills.
- The post holder will be based within CAMHS at The Den, Chesterfield Royal Hospital (with the possibility of some work based at our other Core CAMHS Bases in Chesterfield town centre and Buxton and/or some remote-working, in line with Service demands).
- This is a 12 month temporary contract to cover a maternity post.
