Job Description & How to Apply Below

Responsibilities

You’ll be proactively dealing with issues of anti-social behaviour affecting our tenants. Using your background and skills, you’ll manage high-level cases, taking them through the best course of action for the most suitable outcome. You may be managing a case through the court process, using your legal background to ensure best practice while supporting the victim along the way.

For cases that do not need to go to court, you’ll be taking other action. Either way, you’ll be supporting people, providing expert advice and representing the Council in key legal cases. It’s a varied role and it comes with plenty of challenges. You’ll need to be capable of balancing multiple priorities, and you’ll need to be equally comfortable working with people as you are working with processes.

This is also a rewarding role though. Whether you’re helping make a community feel safer, or helping an individual to access the support they need in their life, you’ll be making a difference to people.

We’re proud to be here for the people of Somerset. And that means everyone in Somerset. An important part of this is ensuring that we are as diverse and inclusive as the people and communities we serve.

Qualifications

You’ll need to have knowledge of the relevant legislation and court processes associated with anti-social behaviour cases. You should also have at least two years’ experience of managing and resolving these cases previously. Your specific background may vary. You may have worked for a local authority housing service before, but this role is also suitable for anyone from a legal or police background.

Ideally, you’ll have good knowledge of the housing industry too, including an L3/4 qualification from the Chartered Institute of Housing. You’ll be a robust individual with the ability to deal with difficult conflicts, while having the empathy to work with people who have difficult needs.

Benefits

We offer great training and development opportunities, with supportive management. As well as this, we have some fantastic employee benefits available:

  • We promote a healthy work-life balance and offer flexible working arrangements wherever possible, including working from home.
  • Generous annual leave allowance, with the opportunity to purchase additional leave.
  • Staff discounts in gyms.
  • Employee Assistance for the times you may need some support and a variety of employee wellbeing services.
  • Auto enrolment onto our generous Pension Scheme and optional pension enhancement through our Additional Voluntary Contribution scheme.
  • A Flexible Benefits Scheme via salary sacrifice to obtain a cycle for work and health screenings.
  • My Staff Shop offering discounts in shops, online shopping, restaurants, cinema tickets, insurance benefits and more…
