In Justice, Catch
22 works with young people and adults in custody and in the community, providing offender management, resettlement, veterans in custody, victim services, gangs work and youth justice. Catch
22’s Victim Service provides emotional and practical support for victims and witnesses of crime and anti-social behaviour, alongside crime prevention advice.

Role

Victim Care Coordinator — you will provide support to victims of crime across Greater Manchester and manage a caseload of referrals made by Greater Manchester Police. You will be the primary point of contact throughout the victim’s journey, performing initial contact and assessment of needs, and tailoring support plans. This may include direct emotional or practical support, or signposting and advocacy with external partners.

You will also lead a specialist area within the team, ensuring services and interventions remain current and that Catch
22 is positioned as a sector leader.

Main duties
  • Provide effective interventions to support those in need, whether over the phone or in-person.
  • Report caseloads to leadership and ensure data is collected and recorded accurately.
  • Perform other administrative duties.
  • Represent Catch
    22 and engage with partnerships, including attending engagement events, liaising with local community centres, and coordinating with other organisations to ensure strong emotional support for victims.
  • Lead in one of the following specialist areas:
    • Domestic Abuse
    • Sexual Violence
    • FGM
    • Children and Young People
    • Gangs and Knife Crime
    • Modern Day Slavery
    • Hate Crimes
    • Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
    • Fraud
    • Radicalisation
Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following skills, abilities and experience:

  • Experience of working with or supporting vulnerable people, through paid or voluntary work, or personal experience.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding
  • Basic level of education with good verbal/written communication essential for casework evidence.
  • Good IT skills; daily use of systems for administrative duties and reporting.
  • Non-judgmental and non-discriminatory approach; able to work with a diverse range of victims and collaborate with skilled workers.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and active listening to understand needs and propose solutions.
  • Resilient and committed to achieving positive outcomes for service users.

Contract:

Permanent.

Hours:

Full time, 37.5 hours per week. Salary: £26,097.

Location:

1-2 days per week at GMP HQ, Newton Heath; remaining time split between remote work and supporting victims in the community.
