Adoptive Home Study Case Worker - Support Prospective Adoptive Parents

The Adoptive Home Study Case Worker conducts domestic and international adoptive home studies, addendums, updates, and post‑placement/post‑adoption reports. This role prepares families for adoption, assesses their readiness, and provides critical documentation aligned with agency standards and regulatory requirements. The position supports prospective adoptive families with compassion and professionalism while working independently in a flexible, remote environment.
Duties And ResponsibilitiesHome Study and Post‑Adoption Services
- Conduct thorough adoptive home studies, including initial assessments, addendums, updates, and post‑supervision reports
- Prepare prospective adoptive families by addressing questions, discussing concerns, and offering appropriate resources and referrals
- Evaluate family readiness and suitability for adoption, using professional judgment and structured assessment tools
Documentation and Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all home study documentation and reports, submitting to the Home Study Coordinator for processing.
- Maintain all professional requirements, including valid professional licensure, driver’s license, and $100,000 auto liability insurance.
- Complete at least 20 hours of continuing education annually, with a minimum of 15 hours focused on current and emerging adoption practice issues.
- Participate in required trainings, staff meetings, and organizational events as assigned.
Collaboration and Client Engagement
- Communicate regularly with the Office Coordinator and seek guidance from the Executive Director when needed
- Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive support to clients from diverse backgrounds
- Work independently and responsibly in a remote environment, managing flexible scheduling aligned with client needs while remaining organized, communicative, and detail‑oriented
Education & Licensure
- Licensed Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university, or Licensed Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Professional Counseling from an accredited college or university. Professional adoption experience is not required.
Availability
- As needed, contract employee working from home, with fieldwork required; evening and weekend availability required. Ideal for someone who works full-time and wants to pick up a side job.
$23.84 to $27.66/hour based on education, relevant experience, and level of licensing. Benefits provided- flexible work schedule, mileage from home to work‑related visits, and an annual stipend for continuing education units.
