Family Lifeline is seeking a Bilingual (Spanish/English) Family Support Specialist to provide culturally informed early childhood home visitation services using the Healthy Families America® model. This role partners closely with parents to strengthen parent-child relationships, build positive parenting skills, and support families in reaching self-sufficiency goals.

Family Support Specialists work directly with families through home visits, group settings, and community connections while maintaining accurate documentation and participating in regular supervision and team collaboration. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood development, family support, and community-based work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide home-based and group services following the Healthy Families America® model
  • Build trusting relationships with parents and caregivers from diverse backgrounds
  • Support families in setting and achieving individualized goals
  • Deliver parent education focused on child development, health, and positive parenting practices
  • Enhance parent-child interactions through structured activities
  • Connect families to community resources such as housing, education, employment, and financial support
  • Serve as an advocate and liaison between families and service providers
  • Conduct screenings and assessments per program guidelines
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in agency and program databases
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and reflective supervision
  • Support outreach efforts, lead parent groups, and assist with agency-wide activities as needed
  • Report suspected child abuse or neglect in accordance with Virginia law
