Chinese Advocate/Case Manager
(Full Time Position, 40 hours/week, non-exempt)
ATASK is the only multilingual and multicultural domestic violence organization in Massachusetts dedicated to serving the Asian and Pacific Islander community. Our culturally specific services, offered in over 20 Asian languages, include a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, case management and advocacy, legal consultation and representation, and English classes.
For over 30 years, ATASK has been at the forefront of empowering Asian survivors of domestic violence and abuse to rebuild their lives. Our work bridges language and cultural gaps for Asian communities and advocates for social change.
Position SummaryATASK is in search of a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a full‑time Chinese Advocate/Case Manager. The position is within our Community Based Services Program, based out of our Boston site serving clients primarily in Greater Boston, Metro West and southeastern MA; services extend throughout Massachusetts and occasionally bordering states to provide needed services to victims, survivors, and their children.
Locationand Commitments
- Full‑time, non‑exempt, 40 hours/week
- Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm, with flexibility for occasional evening or weekend special events or activities.
- Hybrid model, including in‑person and remote work. In‑person work is expected when accompanying clients to places such as appointments, meetings, court, and may include other work‑related engagements.

Asian Shelter and Advocacy Program (ASAP) Clinical Supervisor and ASAP Clinical Manager
- Provide culturally competent, trauma‑informed services to survivors of domestic violence
- Provide direct services to clients: including safety planning, crisis intervention, risk assessment, case management, and advocacy
- Conduct intake, assessment, and goal planning with clients
- Assist with and/or accompany clients (and their children) to appointments, meetings, and referrals
- Provide service and supportive counseling in a client’s native language where needed
- Collaborate with internal and external multidisciplinary teams on domestic violence cases
- Make referrals, network, and directly advocate with other agencies to assist clients in achieving safety and stabilization goals and seek‑out funds needed to stabilize and assist clients
- Answer hotline calls: ascertain caller’s needs; provide supportive listening, crisis intervention, safety planning, information about domestic violence, resources and inter‑agency and external referrals
- Maintain current and accurate records of services and data
- Attend staff meetings, supervision, case meetings, and contribute to the ongoing development of ATASK culturally responsive service delivery system
- Participate in the Silk Road Gala and other cultural and fundraising events or research projects as needed
- Represent agency at meetings with community collaborators and other community events as needed
Participate in ongoing professional development - Engage in community outreach and engagement, research collaborations and policy advocacy
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills- Required native proficiency (writing, reading and speaking) in Mandarin (Cantonese a plus), and professional fluency in English
- At least two years of prior advocacy/case management experience, including experience in co‑case management and working in a service delivery team
- Experience providing services to Limited English Proficiency (LEP) individuals from diverse backgrounds required
- Experience with domestic violence, sexual assault, trauma, and/or crisis work preferred
- Knowledge of health care, legal, education, workforce development, mental health, and child systems preferred
- Highly organized and detail‑oriented, with strong documentation and communication skills
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
