Job Description & How to Apply Below

bthechange CIC is an award-winning Community Interest Company operating across the Southwest of England and South Wales, focused on providing transformative support for racially minoritized individuals, women, and first-time entrants at risk of or within the criminal justice system. We offer structured programs addressing complex needs, including substance use interventions, financial and welfare support, housing, employment assistance, and neurodivergent-inclusive career development.

In addition to direct client services, we actively engage in systemic change by influencing policies, processes, and cultural attitudes impacting individuals with convictions. Our diverse and experienced team reflects society, embodying our commitment to equal opportunities and inclusive practices.

This full-time hybrid role, with flexibility for some remote work, focuses on supporting individuals transitioning from prison to community life. Day-to-day tasks include conducting assessments, creating tailored transition plans, liaising with community partnerships, and overseeing client progress. The Coordinator will facilitate access to housing, employment, training opportunities, and essential services while providing consistent emotional and practical support. Additionally, the role involves collaboration with stakeholders to address structural barriers and promote systemic improvements.

Qualifications
  • Experience in providing support services such as client assessments, transition planning, and case management
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with clients and build relationships with community partners
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system and understanding of structural challenges faced by affected individuals
  • Proficiency in welfare support areas, including housing, finance, and employment assistance
  • Skills in facilitating workshops, creating action plans, and delivering motivational interventions
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively as part of a diverse team
  • Familiarity with equality, diversity, and inclusion principles
  • Desirable:
Experience with substance misuse support, neurodivergent-inclusive programs, or systemic change initiatives
  • Relevant qualifications in social work, psychology, criminology, or a related field are advantageous.
