Do you know what good Social Care practice looks like? Are you interested in showcasing good practice and helping colleagues to do their best work? As a Quality Assurance Officer you will have the opportunity to work across all of Cambridgeshire County Council's Children's Services, including Targeted Support, Youth Justice and SEND. You will be part of a small team that has a strong emphasis on social care values and practice standards. After your induction, this role will be hybrid and includes travel across Cambridgeshire as well as home working.

Our current team base is Scott House, Huntingdon.

Interviews to be held in person at Scott House in Huntingdon on 31st March 2026 and willinclude a young people panel as the voice of those receiving a service is at the heart of practice in Cambridgeshire County Council from the very start of your journey with us.

What will you be doing?

Your role will be varied and interesting. Here are some of the things you will be doing:

  • Interpreting data, utilising feedback and liaising with the service to plan audit activity.
  • Completing audits (both desktop and side by side with practitioners).
  • Engaging with those who receive a service to ensure their voice is at the centre of all we do.
  • Report writing.
  • Sharing your findings in creative ways, with a wide-ranging audience, including senior leaders.
  • Informing and delivering workforce development activities, such as workshops - working closely with colleagues in our Learning and Development Service and the Cambridgeshire Academy for Reaching Excellence (CARE).
  • Assisting leaders in coordinating quality and performance monitoring activity within services.
About you

Ideally, you are a Social Worker who is registered with Social Work England. But if you have a degree (or equivalent) in a related field, or extensive experience of working in social care or youth justice, we'd love to hear from you too!

You are professionally curious and want to understand why something has happened, what the impact might be and how we could improve it.

You can be flexible with changing demands and are creative in your approaches to meeting work challenges.
