The Emergency Duty Team (EDT) is a well‑established, forward‑thinking service dedicated to delivering high‑quality out‑of‑hours support across Worcestershire for both Children’s and Adult Services, and Children’s Services in Herefordshire. We pride ourselves on providing a seamless and robust service, working closely with daytime colleagues to ensure support and care plans are followed, and that our interventions meet the levels‑of‑need guidance for both counties.
Joining EDT means becoming part of a supportive, welcoming team with a wide range of experience. You’ll receive regular supervision and be supported in your ongoing professional development.
As an EDT Social Worker, you will work as part of a fixed rota covering out‑of‑hours periods‑weekdays: 4:30 pm to 12:30 am, weekends & bank Holidays. When on shift, you will also undertake standby duties to respond to emergencies through the remainder of the night.
Within your role you will respond to crisis situations, liaise with partner agencies, hold strategy discussions, share information appropriately, and implement safety plans to manage and minimise risk. Accurate, timely record‑keeping and clear handovers to daytime teams are essential parts of the role.
This is a hybrid role: you will primarily work from home but must be able to attend the office base at Wildwood, Worcestershire, and carry out visits when required.
