You will join South Gloucestershire Council’s Children’s Social Care and Preventative Services
, working within a busy and highly skilled Front Door Team. This service plays a crucial role in safeguarding by screening referrals, undertaking statutory assessments, and ensuring proportionate, timely responses for children and families.

You will contribute to an integrated approach to safeguarding and early help, supporting families through strengths‑based, outcome‑focused practice while maintaining robust risk management and decision‑making.

Undertake statutory assessments for children and families where thresholds for social care intervention are met, including child protection enquiries.

Identify, assess, and manage risks relating to actual or potential harm to children.

Apply strengths‑based and asset‑focused approaches to achieve positive, sustainable outcomes.

Make sound, timely decisions using professional judgement, analysis, and problem‑solving skills.

Work collaboratively with children, families, and partner agencies to support safety, wellbeing, and long‑term change.
