Overview
Mountain Home is seeking a Residential and Family Support Specialist (R-FSS) to help ensure Mountain Home’s Residential Department is a safe, stable, and nurturing environment for young mothers and their children. The R-FSS provides hands-on, interactive support for young mothers and their children living in Mountain Home’s residential program. This position combines direct client care, skill-building, and family support. The R-FSS models healthy routines and relationships while ensuring a safe, stable, and nurturing environment for residents.
Our ideal R-FSS will work alongside clinical staff and Resident Care Coordinators to promote family wellness, emotional regulation, and independent living skills. The R-FSS will provide direct support in daily routines, such as morning and evening transitions, mealtime, and household tasks, while maintaining professional boundaries and trauma-informed care practices. This position is also required to attend the Residential Weekly Meetings that occur on Tuesdays from 9:00am to 10:15am that you will be expected to attend in person or virtually.

- Experience working with young families, parents, or children in home-based or residential settings.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches.
- Ability to model and reinforce healthy boundaries and emotional regulation.
- Effective communication and documentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to maintain calm and professionalism in high-stress situations.
- Competency in using Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and EHR systems.
- Must maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks.
- Deep understanding of family systems and human development.
- Compassion balanced with consistency and accountability.
- Ability to assess family strengths and implement practical, skill-based interventions.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and strong time-management skills.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive care.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Early Childhood, Psychology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
