We are seeking a dedicated Resettlement Case Manager to provide in-person support, social services, and acculturation assistance to Afghan Humanitarian Parolees, Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) holders, refugees, and other eligible immigrant populations.

This role focuses on supporting individuals and families after their initial resettlement period, helping them identify needs, set goals, and build the skills and connections required for long-term stability and independence. This position is ideal for someone who is hands-on, compassionate, highly organized, and committed to relationship-based work.

Salary: $44,000

This is a fully on-site role serving clients in the community. It is not a hybrid or remote position.

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities
  • Direct Client Support & Advocacy
    • Provide ongoing, intensive, in-person case management and advocacy services
    • Conduct self-sufficiency assessments and collaborate with clients to set realistic goals and action steps
    • Deliver core services, including:
      • Employment support
      • Benefits and public assistance navigation
      • ESL enrollment and coordination
      • Assistance with medical appointments and follow-up care
    • Make appropriate referrals to community resources that support integration and independence
    • Provide transportation to clients as needed to ensure access to services

  • Community Integration & Acculturation
    • Support clients in understanding and navigating U.S. systems and community norms
    • Assist with practical needs, including apartment set-up and household organization when required
    • Build trusting relationships that respect cultural context, trauma histories, and individual strengths

  • Compliance, Documentation & Team Collaboration
    • Learn and comply with all applicable state, local, and federal program requirements
    • Maintain timely, accurate case notes, documentation, and reports to meet federal auditing standards
    • Become proficient in multiple database systems used for tracking services and outcomes
    • Attend weekly supervision meetings and participate in annual performance evaluations
    • Collaborate closely with supervisors, colleagues, and external service providers
Schedule & Work Environment
  • Services are delivered in person throughout New Haven and Bridgeport
  • Some evening or after-hours work may be required to meet client needs
  • Role includes physical activity such as assisting with apartment set-up and moving household items
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (social work, education, anthropology, psychology, international studies, women’s studies, public health, or similar)
  • At least 2 years of client-facing experience and/or 1 year working with vulnerable or underserved populations
  • Familiarity with Afghan culture and resettlement experiences
  • Strong organizational, communication, and prioritization skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams and service providers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using client databases
  • Reliable vehicle, valid U.S. driver’s license, and active auto insurance
  • Ability to assist with physical tasks related to housing set-up
  • Flexibility to accommodate occasional after-hours services
  • Verbal fluency in Dari and/or Pashto strongly preferred
