Wellspring Lutheran Services is a statewide nonprofit serving seniors, families, and children throughout Michigan. We are currently seeking a Family Preservation Worker to join our In-Home Family Services Program in Traverse City, supporting families across Grand Traverse, Leelanau, and Kalkaska counties.

• Adhere to the In-Home Family Services model of service using a strengths-based, non-deficit approach.
• Provide families with concrete services including housing support, transportation, home cleaning, maintenance, and repair.
• Deliver skills training in parenting, communication, self-advocacy, and self-sufficiency.
• Provide short-term counseling and crisis intervention.
• Coordinate collateral contacts to arrange medical care, counseling, educational support, utility assistance, housing services, and community resources.
• Prepare required documentation including service plans, progress reports, termination summaries, goal sheets, weekly plans, time reports, and correspondence within required time frames.
• Present cases for termination conferences and recommend follow-up services.
• Maintain 24-hour availability to clients and work a flexible schedule based on family needs.
• Conduct face-to-face contact with families according to contract requirements.
• Maintain weekly communication with referring workers.
• Complete follow-up evaluations at 3, 6, and 12 months post-service.
• Transport clients using your personal vehicle as needed.

• Associate’s degree in social work or a related human services field (required);
  Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, vehicle registration, and auto insurance (required).
• Experience working with children and families (preferred).
• Compassionate, reliable, and committed to a strengths-based approach.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Salary: $43,000 / year, based on experience
• Travel:
