ABOUT YOUR JOB AT KAPOSIA
As a Career Consultant at Kaposia, you will help people discover employment opportunities in the community that align with their skills and interests; in turn, this helps businesses broaden and diversify their talent pool and helps our society at large raise expectations for people living with disabilities and mental health challenges. As we work with people, success will be determined in part by how comfortable you are speaking to local businesses and how effectively you can build trust and rapport with people that you support.
You must also be able to pass a background check, have a clean driving record, and a vehicle available.
- Every day, you will make a difference in someone’s life. When people go to work, it provides them with income, helps them connect socially and, for many, a job gives them purpose.
- No two days are alike! You will work with people with a range of life experiences that may include mental health challenges, emotional, physical, or intellectual developmental disabilities.
- Part of your work week will be in-person; you will spend time getting to know people and canvassing their communities, going out to businesses for informational meetings, tours, and interviews.
- Part of your work week will be remote; you will have the chance to work from home where you can connect with some people on your caseload virtually, work on resumes and applications, catch‑up on paperwork/emails, make phone calls to businesses, enter billing reports and complete Discovering Your Personal Genius staging records, which is a record of what we learn about them and what informs the subsequent job search.
- You will use your creativity to identify opportunities for people to demonstrate their skills and interests, then find careers where they can do more of what they love.
We provide services in Hennepin, Ramsey, Washington, and Dakota counties. This Career Consultant position will be focused in and around Hennepin County. Employees may be working from home, in the community, or at either office in Little Canada or Golden Valley.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS- Nonexempt, $ per hour based on education and experience.
- The position is based on a flexible 40‑hour work week. While most weeks Career Consultants are working M‑F from 8a‑5p, the work schedule can include occasional evenings, nights or weekends based on customer needs. Must be flexible to attend meetings and training (virtually and in person), as required.
- Full‑benefit package after two full months of employment to include medical (employee contribution), dental, life insurance, AD&D, long‑term disability, 401K plan, Personal Time Off (up to 15 days first year,) and eight holidays.
- Company laptop & cell phone provided. Mileage reimbursed. Offices are smoke/fragrance free and have off‑street parking.
