Wellspring Lutheran Services is a statewide nonprofit dedicated to serving seniors, families and children throughout Michigan. We are currently seeking a full-time Foster Care Licensing Specialist to join our foster care team serving Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties. In this role, you will support prospective foster parents through licensing, training, and ongoing compliance while helping ensure children are placed in safe, supportive homes.

• Complete initial assessments of new foster parent applicants
• Complete annual and renewal license assessments, and all licensing activities related to changes in the foster home
• Conduct, monitor and review special investigations of licensed foster homes, providing recommendations and corrective action plans as needed
• Create and implement plans to recruit and retain foster families, including presentations, attending community events, newsletters, awards, gifts, and support groups
• Schedule and provide pre-service and ongoing training for prospective foster parents at times convenient for families
• Provide orientation for prospective foster families to facilitate the application process
• Obtain referrals and intake information, assisting in making placements in compliance with rules and policy
• Visit each assigned foster home at least once each quarter
• Maintain accurate records, confidentiality, and timely reports
• Attend staff and treatment planning meetings as required
• Provide emergency, on-call interventions after hours and on holidays as required
• Integrate learning from required DHHS training into day-to-day responsibilities

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or a human services-related field
• Experience working with children and families
• Valid Michigan driver’s license, registration, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
• Reliable, responsible attitude with a compassionate, quality-driven approach

  Full-time, 40 hours/week
• Pay Rate: $41,000–$41,500/year

• Hybrid Remote:
  Flexible schedule with travel throughout Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties
• In-office: 2 days per week with some remote work opportunities
