Position

Location:

Wigan Life Centre, South College Avenue, Wigan WN1 1NJ
. Salary:
Grade 7, £13,215 – £14,742 per annum (part‑time 15 hours per week). We are on a journey to build a workforce reflective of our Borough, fostering diverse teams where everyone can bring their authentic selves to work and feel they belong.

About this role

You will work within the specialist Adult Safeguarding Team alongside Social Workers and Specialist Support Officers, handling statutory functions. As the first point of contact for service users, colleagues, managers and employees, you will provide advice and support on hoarding concerns, signpost to appropriate services, manage calls and messages, and support all concerns related to hoarding and referrals. You will also be part of community support groups for individuals who identify themselves as having excessive belongings.

Proposed working days are Thursday and Friday, but the schedule can be flexible.

About you

You are an enthusiastic and committed practitioner, organised, and enjoy working in a busy team. You have experience of working effectively with residents and other service providers. You are passionate about creating positive outcomes for the residents of Wigan, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and maintain professionalism in highly emotive situations. You will support training and development.
