Job Summary

Assists in the development, implementation, administration, and evaluation of interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral activities concerning the understanding andguidant awareness of the benefits of nature for human the community health with a focus on public groups who would benefit from greater access to nature. Activities are shared between two related programs, one in Utah [Nature and Human Health-Utah], the other at the national level [Nature and Human Health-Alliance].

Team work and collaboration are valued. Travel may include visits to collaborators, giving presentations, and attending conferences. Funding is secure for two years, with the strong possibility of further support.

Responsibilities
  • Oversight of day-to-day operations such as responding to emails, managing calendars, and basic budget/accounting work.
  • Provides administrative support, including recording and archiving meeting notes, assisting with grant proposals, preparing budget reports, and supporting work related to publications and articles.
  • Develops, oversees, and manages program websites, social media, public relations activities, and an "umbrella" database of people and existing programs related to nature and human health.
  • Plans, develops, coordinates and implements new activities to meet identified needs of collaborating groups.
  • Serves as a program representative to address issues and questions related to the programs.
  • Assists in the assessment, of the performance and impacts of activities.
  • May supervise

    Transition subordinate staff, by hiring, training, establishing goals and evaluating performance.

    Bachelor’s degree in a related area plus three years of experience in program management and budgets, or equivalency. Candidate has developed and implemented concepts into successful programs; demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills; and can provide evidence for the potential ability to perform the essential

    Sorject functions of the job as outlined in the position Rule.

    Preferences translation

    Prior experience working in an academic setting is preferred. Writing, Zoom/remote work experience, website development and maintenance, and strong communication skills are preferred. Candidate should be comfortable with professional writing and speaking to a range of constituents, including academics, community partners, the public, and policy-makers.
