Bolton Council is seeking a skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join its Safeguarding Children Team with specialist experience in the Adoption process. This role is ideal for professionals experienced in managing children's cases through statutory timelines, supporting families, and working collaboratively with adoption services.
The role offers flexible working arrangements, balancing office-based work at Castle Hill, statutory home visits, and remote work, allowing professionals to manage their caseload efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a caseload of children and families, supporting the adoption process from assessment to placement
- Prepare high-quality reports, assessments, and court documentation in line with statutory timescales
- Undertake duty and home visits across Bolton, ensuring statutory compliance and safeguarding standards
- Work closely with the Adoption Service to ensure all evidence and documentation meet regulatory requirements
- Participate in care planning meetings, reviews, and multi-agency conferences as required
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with council policies
- Support families and children with advice, guidance, and interventions to improve outcomes
- Qualified Social Worker - Degree/Diploma in Social Work
- Social Work England registration
- Experience in adoption, safeguarding, and statutory children's services
- Knowledge of statutory timelines, care planning, and court proceedings
- Strong communication, report-writing, and assessment skills
- Ability to undertake duty work, home visits, and travel across Bolton
- Commitment to supporting positive outcomes for children and families
