This opportunity is for County Caseworkers to build rapport and a professional relationship with consumers of all ages in services and their families. Serve as an advocate for the consumer, monitor the delivery of services, link individuals to services, develop social supports, and encourage self-determination.

Enter necessary information and maintain information in computerized database, state computer systems, and in charts in accordance with state, federal and licensing regulations and Agency policy. Obtain and update information within required time frames. Provide crisis intervention services as needed. Work in cooperation with and consult with Agency staff, supervisors, other providers, and community resources as needed. Link individuals to transportation services or transport individuals to appointments as needed.
Attend meetings, staffing, and trainings as needed. At times, may provide coverage in Bedford County. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- On occasion, staff may need to work hours outside of the set work week to complete projects, meet work demands or in the event of an emergency.
- Hours may vary to meet the needs of the consumers.
- This position reports to the DBHS Office for work. Upon hire, new staff begin training and are on probation for 6 months. New staff may be eligible for a hybrid of on-site and remote work after 3 months of employment.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience andTraining Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
