Position: Children, Youth, & Family Services Supervisor (Ongoing)

Overview

In this position, you will supervise a team of 3 social caseworkers in a general ongoing team. You will have the opportunity to support the casework team in their work as permanency caseworkers to continually assess for safety, well-being, and permanency. The supervisor will lead the caseworker team toward safe and stable family reunification, or identifying alternate permanency options in a timely fashion so that children do not languish in the system.

You will be looked to for leadership, innovation, and creative case planning to meet the changing needs and dynamics of the families we serve as well as the caseworkers who serve them. In a general team you can expect to work with families struggling with substance use, domestic violence, physical abuse, and neglect. You will spend time in the courthouse, in the office, and have the opportunity to work from home.

You will become an integral part of helpers who seek to protect our community’s most vulnerable citizens, the children.

Compensation

Hiring Range: $75,800.00 - $82,800.00 annually. Anticipated Hiring Rate: $79,730.56 annually.

Schedule & Work Arrangements

This is a child protection position; child protection includes engaging families. It is reasonable to anticipate the need for flexibility in work hours periodically to accommodate client schedules. The average workday hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Schedule is subject to change. Hybrid schedule may be available upon successful completion of probationary period; subject to change. This position will participate in an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities
  • Supervises assigned caseworkers, case services aides, and administrative support staff, including conducting unit meetings, ensuring work is performed in a timely and accurate manner, and assigning duties as appropriate. Conducts performance evaluations and motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance; participates in the hiring and disciplinary process.
  • Communicates the mission of the unit; establishes and monitors the workflow of the unit and assigns applicable cases, assessments, services, and/or placement cases.
  • Conducts and participates in staffing and consultations with caseworkers; meets with appropriate staff to discuss cases, treatment plans, problems, and issues and to address performance.
  • Leads weekly unit meetings to discuss information; participates in DHS administrative meetings involving planning, decision-making, and management. Coordinates and facilitates staff training as needed.
  • Participates in case-related staffing, court hearings, reviews, meetings, and family meetings; decides and recommends appropriate case plans and proceedings, as assigned.
  • Ensures compliance with Federal, State, and County laws, outcome measures, rules, and regulations; reviews cases to ensure case plans are developed and implemented, as assigned.
  • Reviews, edits, and/or approves unit correspondence and reports.
  • Serves as a liaison to community professionals, clients, other agencies, the courts, and the public; responds to complaints and concerns.
  • Collects, reports, and monitors team statistics, data, outcomes, and performance; approves and routes some financial requests.
  • Performs other duties as required.
