About The PostBarnsley Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Team as a Part-Time Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring that the rights of individuals are protected, while supporting the delivery of high-quality services across the borough.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the DoLS team, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met.
- Oversee assessments, authorisations, and reviews in line with legislation and best practice.
- Provide professional supervision, guidance, and support to team members.
- Work collaboratively with health and social care partners to safeguard individuals’ rights.
- Monitor performance and contribute to service development and improvement.
- Experienced in adult social care, mental capacity legislation, or safeguarding.
- Skilled in taking a lead around the BIA role.
- Knowledgeable and experienced about DoLS processes and upcoming Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS) reforms.
- A strong communicator, able to build effective relationships with professionals and families.
