Location: Suffolk, VA.
Shift: Rotating.

• Active monitoring of Concealed Weapons Detection System(s) at division entrances.
• Inform visitors/patients that weapons are not allowed and secure them for the duration of the visit.
• Patrol campus, monitor activity in and around buildings and grounds, and respond appropriately to routine and emergency situations.
• Conduct camera surveillance, maintain department logs and records.
• Use computer skills for documentation of daily activities, conduct security investigations, evaluate situations, and take appropriate steps for professional and timely resolution.

• High School Diploma.
• 1 year of security officer experience preferred.
• Completed Sentara Fit for Duty assessment to meet minimum fitness standard.
• Pass Psychological Evaluation and Assessment conducted by Sentara's selected Service Provider.
• Obtain Virginia DCJS – Armed Officer Certificate within 90 days of hire.
• Earn Certified Healthcare Security Officer and Handle with Care Certifications within 90 days of hire.
