Remote Security Officer, Seasonal - Prudhoe Bay

The Remote Security Officer provides services for a variety of large and small business clients in remote settings where health, safety, and security is our #1 priority. All duties are performed in accordance with NMS' mission, vision, and values.
- Personally monitors and patrols assigned buildings, areas, or grounds either visually or electronically.
- Permits only properly authorized individuals to enter the property.
- Patrols premises and examines doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure.
- Records data such as property damage and unusual occurrences.
- Warns violators of rule infractions and may apprehend or expel violators.
- Notifies on-site individuals of visitors wishing to see them.
- Assists in responding to emergencies or disasters to preserve life and property.
- Operates camp billeting and access control systems and maintains a list of authorized personnel and visitors.
- May check heating, lighting, sprinkling, security, ventilation, fire, and related systems to ensure they are operational.
- Provides emergency medical intervention including CPR, AED, and patient movement.
- Notifies supervisor if safety and sanitation standards are not being met.
- Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success may be assigned.
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least three (3) years of full‑time professional security, law enforcement or military experience.
- Post‑secondary education in a related field may substitute for experience.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for the past 3 years under NMS' vehicle insurance policy.
- Ability to obtain and pay the Alaska Guard License fee of $97.00 prior to beginning work.
- Must obtain a State of Alaska Armed Guard License upon hire.
- Handgun handling experience and skills to pass a law‑enforcement style qualification.
- Eligible for certifications such as TWIC, ATF Explosive Possessor card, etc.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and contract‑specific software.
- Pass all pre‑employment contract requirements (drug test, physical and fit‑for‑duty assessment, hearing test); applicants not near a testing facility are responsible for travel costs.
- Ability to live in dormitory‑style settings and meet cleanliness requirements of the remote camp.
- Team‑oriented and can cooperate with employees, customers, and clients.
- Make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.
- On feet for 12 hours per shift during scheduled rotations.
- Must speak, understand, read, and write English.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client.
Candidates residing in Alaska & the Lower 48: pre‑employment testing will be conducted near the candidate’s residence, with Anchorage considered the point of hire for certain procedures. Salary, travel, and accommodations for pre‑employment tasks in Anchorage are the employee’s responsibility. Candidates residing in Alaska for the Alyeska Contract will have testing scheduled near their area of residence, except when no service providers are available.
Flights to remote locations: employees are responsible for all expenses related to traveling to Anchorage for scheduled trips paid by the company.

Located on the North Slope of Alaska at remote camps and surrounding facilities.
Must constantly be able to stand, walk, climb, push, pull, use hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
