Safety Support Associate [OVERNIGHT SHIFT] (JR 4792)

PATH is seeking a Safety Support Associate to join the Yale Interim Housing team in Santa Ana, CA. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with overnight hours. Salary range: $21.71 to $26.36 per hour.

• Monitor the interim housing site and build rapport with guests.
• Assist with ensuring the overall safety of the site through observation, de-escalation strategies, and ongoing participant engagement.
• Coordinate with case management staff and contracted security agencies to ensure safety onsite.
• Monitor security systems and conduct regular rounds of the grounds and facilities; communicate any discrepancies or concerns.
• Assist the Associate Director with drafting written documentation and correspondence regarding site safety and security.
• Respond to security concerns or crisis situations as they arise, utilizing non-violent crisis intervention and verbal de-escalation techniques in collaboration with other staff.

• Maintain and execute confidential information according to HIPAA standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Acute attention to detail.
• High level of tolerance and understanding for individuals with urgent and multiple case management and health needs.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Demonstrated mature judgment, motivation, and proactivity.
• Strong interpersonal skills and prioritization to coordinate multiple demands in a high-pressure environment.

• One year of experience working with vulnerable populations and/or security and/or de-escalation/nonviolent crisis intervention.

• All levels of education and experience welcome.

• Be able and willing to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends.
• Employment eligibility verification.
• Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid training.
• Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination.
• Complete the following as a condition of hire:
  Tuberculosis Test, Background Screening, Drug Test.

The position typically requires standing and walking; duties may include standing, sitting, walking, stooping, climbing stairs, driving, reaching, typing, talking, and hearing. May be exposed to outside environmental conditions. May lift and/or carry up to 40 lbs on occasion; reasonable accommodations may be made.
