As an intern, you’ll work alongside our experienced practitioners and with our clients and communities. This hands‑on experience will equip you with practical skills, build your network, and provide opportunities that set you up for success.

An opportunity exists for a highly motivated, personable, and organized undergraduate student majoring in Wildlife Ecology, Ecology, Wetland Science, Soil Science, Botany, Environmental Science or a related major.

As an emerging professional, you will be working with a multi‑disciplinary team in the office and at project site locations. Main responsibilities include shadowing or assisting field staff with a variety of environmental surveys (i.e. wetland delineations, rare plant surveys, bat acoustic surveys, bird surveys, aquatic surveys). This position will be based out of our Topsham, Maine office and will require some overnight travel and working at remote field sites.

You will work directly with Stantec’s scientists, field team leads, and technicians, in addition to being assigned a mentor who will work one‑on‑one with you. This position will be four days a week from June 1 to August 14, 2026.
